Putin to discuss strengthening country's global role and security issues with ambassadors

MOSCOW, July 19. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting of ambassadors and permanent representatives of the Russian Federation on Thursday in Moscow, according to the Kremlin press service.

The President will outline the key tasks for the Russian diplomacy. According to the press service, these include further strengthening the role of Russia in the international arena, protecting national interests, creating favorable external conditions for the development of the country's economy and improving the quality of life of the population, ensuring the rights and freedoms of Russian citizens and compatriots abroad.

Particular attention at the meeting will be paid to issues related to maintaining global security and stability, countering spread of terrorism and extremism, Russia's participation in settlement of regional conflicts. The President will also touch on the problems of increasing the effectiveness of Eurasian integration processes, as well as expanding mutually beneficial trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties with the leading partners of the Russian Federation, the press service said.
