Finland ready to host another Putin-Trump summit — Finnish top diplomat

HELSINKI, July 17. /TASS/. Finland is ready to organize another Russian-US summit if need be, Finnish Foreign Minister Timo Soini said on Monday after the talks between Russian and US Presidents, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, in Helsinki.

"Of course, we are very good to have this kind of summits," he said. "I'm very proud for my stuff that within two and a half weeks we were able to put everything up."

"This was a good chance for our President [Sauli Niinisto] to meet both Mr. Putin and Mr. Trump, and it was a good chance for me to meet my counterparts Mr. 9Sergey] Lavrov and Mr. [Michael] Pompeo," he added.

Monday’s meeting in Helsinki was the first full-format Putin-Trump summit. Before that, they met twice - in July and November 2017 - on the sidelines of major international forums.
