Putin readdresses question about US’ implementation of Helsinki summit agreements to Trump

"This question is not to me, it is to our American partners, to the United States President," Putin said

MOSCOW, July 16. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has refused to answer a question whether the United States would implement the agreements reached at Monday’s summit in Helsinki, readdressing it to the US side.

"This question is not to me, it is to our American partners, to the United States President," Putin said in an interview with Russia’s Channel One TV after his talks with US President Donald Trump.

According to the Russia leader, it is up to Trump to "speak with Congressmen, with political parties."

He noted that it is important to set up a committee of Russian and US businessmen who would look at how to improve economic relations between the two nations.

"I think it is important for businesses, since US business is limited in its possibilities to operate on our market and has to retreat, to cede its positions on our market," Putin said. "Who can benefit from that? Is it beneficial for the US economy?".
