Concrete results of Putin-Trump summit unlikely to be seen immediately — Russian MP

Putin and Trump spoke behind closed doors for more than two hours to be later joined by other officials

MOSCOW, July 16. /TASS/. Concrete results of Monday’ one-on-one meeting between Russian and US Presidents, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, are unlikely to be felt immediately as further "patient dialogue" is needed, the Russian upper parliament house speaker said on Monday after the summit meeting between the two leaders in the Finnish capital city Helsinki.

"One should expect concrete practical results immediately. A long patient dialogue is needed. Further contacts are needed to continue to agree mutually acceptable solutions," said Federation Council speaker Valentina Matviyenko.

"I think the world has somewhat calmed down now," she added.

Putin and Trump spoke behind closed doors for more than two hours to be later joined by other officials, including Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo.
