Medvedev to head Russian delegation at inauguration ceremony of Turkish President July 9

The ceremony is due to be held in Ankara

MOSCOW, July 7. /TASS/. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will head the Russian delegation at the inauguration ceremony of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan which is to be held on July 9 in Ankara, the press service of the Russian government reported.

"On behalf of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev will visit Turkey on July 9 to participate in the inauguration ceremony of the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan," the statement said.

On June 24, early presidential and parliamentary elections were held in Turkey. The country’s current leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan won the elections in the first round, gaining 52.59% of the vote. His closest rival, a candidate from the People's Republican Party, won 30.64% of votes.
