Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi is due to pay a working visit to Moscow on July 4

MOSCOW, June 28. /TASS/. Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi is due to pay a working visit to Moscow on July 4 and discuss with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov the Syrian settlement and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said on Thursday.

"At the talks the foreign ministers of the two countries will exchange views on the vital issues of the international and regional agenda with the focus on the Syrian settlement in the context of the operation of de-escalation zones with participation of Russia, the United States and Jordan, and also the situation in the Palestinian-Israeli track," the diplomat said.

The sides will also hash over bilateral cooperation issues.

"We note that the dialogue between the Russian and Jordanian foreign ministers is characterized by a high level of trust, and our two countries’ approaches are close or coincide on many key international and regional issues," Zakharova stressed.

The Jordanian foreign minister visited Russia’s Black Sea resort city of Sochi this May and held talks with Lavrov.
