Chief Russian delegate says OPCW is akin to The Titanic after collision

Many countries should "realize that the decisions they make are of great importance to the world order," Georgy Kalamanov said

THE HAGUE, June 27. /TASS/. Russia’s chief delegate at the conference in The Hague that brought together the Chemical Weapons Convention signatories, Georgy Kalamanov, has likened the situation in the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons to that on board The Titanic after the liner suffered a hole and began to sink.

"The situation in the OPCW is akin to that on board The Titanic, which has suffered a whole and begun to sink," Kalamanov said. Many countries should "realize that the decisions they make are of great importance to the world order," he said.
