MOSCOW, June 27. /TASS/. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and US presidential national security adviser John Bolton discussed the situation in Ukraine, Syria and bilateral relations during their meeting on Wednesday, Russia’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

"The parties held an exchange of opinions on the topical issues of the international agenda, including the situation around Syria and in Ukraine," the statement says.

"Considerable attention was paid to the issues of bilateral relations," Russia’s Foreign Ministry said.

The meeting was held behind closed doors for the media and lasted about two hours.

Bolton was also received by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday. The Russian leader noted that the relations between the two countries were not in their best shape and said he hoped that this visit would become a step towards restoring full-format relations between Moscow and Washington.
