Kremlin: New cabinet of ministers to be formed within a week

Putin will meet with Russian PM Dmitry Medvedev on Tuesday, and the new cabinet of ministers may be determined at this meeting, the Kremlin spokesman said

SOCHI, May 15. /TASS/. The new Russian government will be formed ahead of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), acting Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.

"Of course, it will have been formed under the Constitution [by the start of SPIEF]," Peskov said.

SPIEF 2018 will run on May 24-26.

Peskov reiterated that Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Tuesday, and the new cabinet of ministers may be determined at this meeting. Answering the question on whether the president will need some time to approve candidacies for the new government Peskov said, "I don’t know, let’s wait for this meeting." The acting Kremlin spokesman did not specify whether any specific contenders to the government will be discussed at the meeting.
