Russia, Britain currently maintain no anti-terror cooperation — deputy foreign minister

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov explained that such cooperation was disrupted in the wake of the Litvinenko case

ROME, May 10. /TASS/. Moscow, London currently do not maintain counter-terrorist cooperation, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov told the media.

"There is no counter-terrorist cooperation at the moment, although I’ve had meetings with British Foreign Office officials in London," he said. "It is essential to establish full-scale cooperation with Russia’s FSB, which is responsible for struggle against terror. There were such examples in the past. Now there are none again."

He explained that such cooperation was disrupted in the wake of the Litvinenko case.

"Before, there had been an active dialogue," Syromolotov said. "Later on it existed on a very limited scale during the Sochi Olympics and the UEFA Euro 2016," he said.
