Senior Russian diplomat warns of terrorists seeking to form sleeper cells in Europe

A diplomat warns terrorist leaders will undoubtedly set their sights on Europe

ROME, May 10. /TASS/. Terrorist ringleaders will undoubtedly set their sights on Europe and will seek to form so-called sleeper cells there, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov said at the OSCE Counter-Terrorism Conference on Thursday.

"I am certain that not only - and not so much Afghanistan - the Central Asian region and Russia as well will be the targets of revanchist intentions of global terror leaders. Terrorists will be sure to set their eyes on Europe, trying to form so-called sleeper cells there," he said. "These developments and their somber consequences are already visible. A series of brutal, even demonstrative terror attacks in Western countries confirm that."
