Aid convoy from Russian Emergencies Ministry arrives in Donbass

The Emergencies Ministry has been delivering humanitarian supplies to Donbass regularly since August 2014

MOSCOW, May 8. /TASS/. An aid convoy for Donbass residents from the Russian Emergencies Ministry has arrived to unloading points, the Russian Emergencies Ministry press service told TASS on Tuesday.

"The cars of the 76th aid convoy of the Russian Emergencies Ministry have arrived to destination points. The humanitarian supplies are being unloaded in special pick-up locations in the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. The whole cargo will be further distributed by relevant organizations among socially significant facilities of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions and the population in need," the ministry said.

The convoy carried more than 400 tonnes of humanitarian cargoes. These are children’s food packages, study literature and medical property. On Tuesday morning the convoy cars crossed the border and passed all the necessary customs procedures, the Emergencies Ministry noted. After the unloading the cars will return to the Emergencies Ministry’s Don Rescue Center near the city of Rostov-on-Don.

The Emergencies Ministry has been delivering humanitarian supplies to Donbass regularly since August 2014. During this time, residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions received more than 73,000 tonnes of humanitarian cargoes.
