No Russians hurt in Kabul explosion - Russian embassy

The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack, Reuters reported

MOSCOW, April 22. /TASS/. There are no Russian nationals among those killed or wounded in the Kabul explosion, the Russian embassy to Afghanistan told TASS on Sunday.

"The embassy has no such data," the embassy said.

According to the latest reports by Tolo News television channel, the death toll from the blast that occurred at 10 a.m. local time (8.30 a.m. Moscow Time) in Dasht-e-Barchi has reached 52. As many as 112 people were wounded as a suicide bomber exploded himself at a voter registration center.

The Islamic State (terror group, outlawed in Russia) has claimed responsibility for the attack, Reuters reported.

Earlier, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani announced the beginning of registration for citizens taking part in the parliamentary and local election scheduled for October. He called on the Taliban movement (outlawed in Russia) to participate in the election. However, the group rejected the offer.
