MOSCOW, October 25 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Minister of Defense Anatoly Serdyukov has stated that the Ministry leadership "attentively follows the development of the situation" around the OAO Oboronservis public joint-stock company.
"This holding company, in accordance with Russia's legislation, is an independent commercial organization which has its own charter that regulates support-service activities in the interests of both the Armed Forces and other customers," he emphasized.
The Minister said the leadership of the Russian Defense Ministry is interested in a detailed inquiry into all the accusations leveled at the Oboronservis officials.
"In the process, any pronouncements being made in public about extent of damage or involvement of particular Oboronservis officials in them before the investigation is completed are not more than just versions," Serdyukov pointed out.
The Minister also emphasized the fact that in the current situation one should not allow any setbacks in the Armed Forces' support-service matters which are handled by the structural subdivisions of the Oboronservis.
