“Russia initiates the first meeting of leaders of BRICS anti-drug services in Moscow in June,” the Russian president said

DURBAN, South Africa, March 27 (Itar-Tass) – Russian President Vladimir Putin called for strengthening BRICS cooperation in the field of security, countering terrorism and illegal drug trafficking.

Speaking at the BRICS summit on Wednesday, Putin said: “The joint efforts aimed at fighting modern challenges and threats such as illicit drug trafficking is becoming more and more pressing.”

“Russia initiates the first meeting of leaders of BRICS anti-drug services in Moscow in June,” the Russian president said.

“It is important to strengthen the basics of international information security and use the BRICS opportunities to promote corresponding initiatives,” he said.

“It is expedient to instruct the BRICS agencies to prepare a framework document, which would record the BRICS states’ common approaches in this sphere,” Putin stressed.
