BISHKEK, July 30. /TASS/. A Polish national has drowned in a mountainous river in Kyrgyzstan’s southern Batken region, the press service of the Central Asian republic’s Emergency Ministry said on Thursday.
"The 36-year-old Polish national was caught in the torrent of the mountainous river Isfairam and drowned," the ministry said.
In recent days, a heatwave affecting the whole country has caused flooding and burst banks of rivers and mountainous lakes, which hampers the search operation.
"Six rescuers from the mobile unit of the town of Kyzyl-Kiya are searching for the missing tourist’s body but without any result," the press service said.
