No less than 5 million tourists to visit Crimea in 2015

There are serious expectations for further development for the tourism industry, the quality of tourist services in Crimea needs to be improved, the head of Federal Agency for Tourism says

SIMFEROPOL, July 16. /TASS/. No less than 5 million tourists will visit Crimea this year, the head of Federal Agency for Tourism Oleg Safonov said on Thursday.

"We hope that more Russian tourists will visit Crimea this year. Last year about 4 million tourists visited so we hope that the number will rise to 5 million this year", he said.

Safonov noted that "there are serious expectations for further development for the tourism industry".

"The current goal is to improve the quality of tourist services in Crimea. We have to be competitive within the world market", he added.

Crimea’s Minister of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea Sergey Strelbitsky said that this year 1.5 million tourists visited Crimea this year.

"Practically every week 200,000 tourists come to Crimea", he said.
