"The emphasis was made on long-term development programs," Kremlin spokesman said

MOSCOW, May 25, /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting on the domestic space industry development, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.

"The emphasis was made on long-term development programs," the spokesman said.

"An additional discussion was also held on the pace of building the Vostochny cosmodrome," Peskov said.

The Vostochny (Eastern) spaceport is being built near the town of Uglegorsk in the Amur Region in the Russian Far East. The spaceport, which has been under construction since 2012, is scheduled to be built by late 2015.

The Vostochny cosmodrome will comprise two launch platforms, an airfield, facilities for crew members’ pre-launch preparation, oxygen-nitrogen and hydrogen plants, 115 kilometers of roadway and 125 kilometers of rail track.
