Donetsk to host Roerich works exhibition

The exhibition is devoted to Svyatoslav and Nicholas Roerich who signed the pact of peace on protection of cultural property in war times, DPR Culture Minister says

MOSCOW, April 9. /TASS/. An exhibition featuring 43 paintings and books by the brothers Svyatoslav and Nicholas Roerich, organized by the Russian Culture Ministry and State Museum of Oriental Art, will be on display in the city of Donetsk from April 15, Culture Minster of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Alexander Paretsky said.

"The exhibition is devoted to Svyatoslav and Nicholas Roerich who signed the pact of peace on protection of cultural property in war times," the Donetsk news agency quoted Paretsky as saying.

The Pact of Peace, or Roerich Pact, on protection of artistic and scientific institutions and historic monuments, was adopted in Washington DC on April 15, 1935.
