China announces start of 'toilet revolution' in tourism

Around 33.5 thousand new toilets will be built in the country in the nearest future, and another 25 thousand will be renovated

BEIJING, January 16. /TASS/. China announces the beginning of a 'toilet revolution' that is supposed to increase the number and improve the quality of water closets at China's numerous tourist sights, head of China's National Tourist Administration Li Jinzao has said.

The official said the current state of the toilet infrastructure leaves much to be desired, and the tourists often complain on lack of latrine facilities. Around 33.5 thousand new toilets will be built in the country in the nearest future, and another 25 thousand will be renovated, the official said.
