LONDON, November 6. /TASS/. The 60 year-old drummer of AC/DC, Phil Rudd, was detained on Thursday night by New Zealand authorities. According to The Guardian, he was accused of trying to arrange killings and possessing marijuana and methamphetamine.

The rock musician was detained and later appeared at the Tauranga District Court. Rudd was charged with making threats to kill, possessing marijuana and methamphetamine, as well as trying to kill two people. He was released on bail till November 27. Amount of bail was not disclosed.

The band did not comment on the situation.

The Australian-born drummer joined the band in 1975. In 1983, he left the band, but later, in 1994, he rejoined AC/DC.

In recent years, Rudd lived in New Zealand, and set up his own business there. His name is included in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
