LONDON, October 24. /TASS/. Queen Elizabeth II has joined Twitter with her first-ever tweet signed ‘Elizabeth R.’
The message was sent through the official British monarchy account on Twitter opening up the new Information Age exhibition at London’s Science Museum.
‘It is a pleasure to open the Information Age exhibition today at the @ScienceMuseum and I hope people will enjoy visiting. Elizabeth R.’ the message said. At the entrance the monarch, who was wearing a sky blue coat and matching hat, took off her glove to touch the tablet screen to send her first tweet. It was the first time she signed a message on Twitter.
Around $25 million was spent on reconstruction of the new wing of the Science Museum. More than 800 exhibits are shown, many of them are unique. Therefore, the only remaining intact copy of the world’s first modern computers, made by an eminent mathematician Alan Turing, is now exhibited there.
