The annual tomato throwing festival took place in the Valencian town of Bunol. Around 22,000 people took part in the event this year, the festival being held for the 69th time. Around 140 tonnes of ripe tomatos were brought to Bunol for the occasion.
For the second year in a row tourists have to pay 10 euros to participate in the festival. The funds will be used to pay the town's huge debt.
One of the legends runs the festival originates in an ordinary street fight.
