WASHINGTON, August 25, 5:41 /ITAR-TASS/. An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 occurred in southern Peru on Sunday night, the US Geological Service reported.

According to the report, the epicenter of the earth jolt was 42 km north-east of the city of Tambo, and its focus was at a depth of 59 km. There was no immediate word about victims or damage.
