GENEVA, August 23. /ITAR-TASS/. The death toll from the outbreak of the Ebola virus disease in western Africa has been up to 1,427 and 2,615 other people have been infected since the beginning of the current outbreak, the World Health Organization said in a survey on Friday.

In just two days, August 19 and 20, the viral infection killed 77 in Guinea, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. Another 142 contracted the virus.
