Seven people die in landslide in Hiroshima

Several tens of people are reckoned missing

TOKYO, August 20,/ITAR-TASS/. Torrential rains on Wednesday caused a landslide in the city of Hiroshima in Japan's south-west.

Seven people, including a two-year child, died in the landslide, and another several tens of people are reckoned missing.

Hiroshima's Fire Department reported that the landslide damaged buildings in several residential quarters of the city in an area stretching along Nenotanigawa River for 15 kilometers.

Search and rescue operations are currently under way in the area of the landslide.
