Soviet sculptor Vera Mukhina was born 125 years ago, on July 1, 1889. Her most famous work — a dynamic sculpture group Worker and Kolkhoz Woman is one of the finest examples of the socialist realistic style. The monument is a widely known symbol of the USSR.
