Conchita Wurst from Austria wins 2014 Eurovision Song Contest

Russia’s twin sisters Maria Tolmacheva and Anastasia Tolmacheva with the song Shine finished seventh with 89 points

COPENHAGEN, May 11 /ITAR-TASS/. Austria won the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in the Danish capital Copenhagen. Conchita Wurst with the song Rise Like a Phoenix got 290 points after a vote by the jury and TV viewers.

The Netherlands (The Common Linnets with the song Calm After The Storm) finished second with 238 points, and Sweden (Sanna Nielsen with Undo) was third with 218.

Russia’s twin sisters Maria Tolmacheva and Anastasia Tolmacheva with the song Shine finished seventh with 89 points.

Russia won Eurovision in 2008, when Dima Bilan performed the song "Believe".

Eurovision is an annual song contest held since 1956.
