MADRID, April 09. /ITAR-TASS/. An annual conference of the European Alliance of News Agencies has opened in Madrid on Wednesday. The conference is being attended by heads of 26 world news agencies, including Director General of ITAR-TASS news agency Sergei Mikhailov.
Issues of the role of news agencies in the media space and the role of electronic mass media, the importance of the development of computer social websites and multimedia information systems are on the conference's agenda.
In the framework of the conference, ITAR-TASS Director General Sergei Mikhailov has met President of Spanish news agency EFE Jose Antonio Vera. Sergei Mikhailov and his Spanish colleague have voiced their plans to develop cooperation in exchange of information and mutual participation in events, organized by both news agencies, exchange of journalists and development of multimedia technologies.
The two sides are to sign a new agreement on cooperation which will reflect all the aspects of the development of mutual contacts.
