MOSCOW, April 06. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev congratulated workers and veterans of geological industry on professional holiday that is traditionally marked in Russia on first Sunday on April since 1966.
“I congratulate you on the holiday, wish the geological industry fruitful work, Russian geologists - wellbeing and successes!” the prime minister said in a congratulatory telegram, noting that “Your profession requires perfect training, special knowledge, strong sustaining power and certainly readiness to endure firmly all difficulties of life during geological parties.
“Only courageous people truly devoted to their profession choose this path. Thanks to pioneer geologists not only deposits of natural resources were discovered, but also new territories were explored. At the place of your expedition camps cities and enterprises grew promoting industrial development of different regions of our huge country,” Medvedev noted.
The prime minister noted that today the top priority of domestic geological service was to develop natural deposits in Siberia, the Far East and on continental shelf. The prime minister said with confidence that knowledge and experience of Russian geologists “will boost dynamical growth of geological industry in the future providing not only for domestic needs but also for export potential of home economy”.
