Russian Tank Biathlon’s participation confirmed by 13 states

MOSCOW, April 03, /ITAR-TASS/. Russia will play host to 13 countries in the 2014 Tank Biathlon, with China and Kuwait to perform on their own tanks, the deputy chief of the Russian Defence Ministry’s main department of combat training, Lt Gen Yuri Petrov said on Thursday.

“As of today, the teams from 13 countries have confirmed their participation in the 2014 Tank Biathlon,” Gen Petrov said. “Eleven teams are planning to perform on Russian hardware so the teams of six countries have decided to undergo preliminary training at the 4th tank division.”

Eleven other countries will send their observers to the Championship.

On June 17 the foreign crews are expected to arrive in Russia and start preparations for the Tank Biathlon while the finals of the tank championship are to be held on August 4 to 16.
