Ten Russian companies to present military products at exhibition in Chile

The area of Russia’s exposition at the fair will exceed 500 square meters

MOSCOW, March 25. /ITAR-TASS/. Ten companies including the arms exporter Rosoboronexport will present Russian military products at the International Air and Space Fair FIDAE 2014 that will be held in Chile March 25-30, the press service of the Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) told Itar-Tass.

“For Russia’s official representation at FIDAE 2014, a delegation led by FSMTC Director Alexander Fomin has been formed,” the source said. The area of Russia’s exposition at the fair will exceed 500 square meters. Rostec Corporation will be the organizer from Russia.

The FIDAE 2014 International Air and Space Fair will be held in Santiago in the territory of Comodoro Arturo Merino Benitez International Airport. “Fourteen organizations, including four subjects of military-technical cooperation (MTC): JSC Rosoboronexport, JSC KPB, JSC NPO Bazalt, JSC Sukhoi Company will place their stands at the event. Ten Russian companies will present military products, demonstrating a total of 163 exhibits,” an official of the FSMTC said.

He specified that the total exhibition area in pavilions would exceed 15 thousand square meters. A total of 362 foreign companies from 35 countries have announced their participation in the event. “The largest expositions will be presented by the United States (77 companies), Brazil (37 companies), Chile (34 companies), France (24 companies), Argentina (22 companies), Germany (21 companies), Spain (19 companies) and Israel (16 companies). Six national pavilions - of Argentina, Austria, Spain, Uruguay, the United States and Canada will be installed at the exhibition,” he said.

According to the exhibition’s promoters, 190 samples of military and civilian aircraft equipment from 13 countries (Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Colombia, the United States, Mexico, Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland and the Czech Republic) will be demonstrated in the flight program and at the parking stand. Daily demonstration flights are planned during the event.

“FSMTC expresses the hope that the FIDAE 2014 International Air and Space Fair will allow Russia to strengthen its business relations with foreign partners in the military-technical sphere,” the press service representative said.

The International Air and Space Fair is held since 1980 with support of presidential administration and government of the Republic of Chile. The event features military aircraft equipment, armaments systems, component parts, communications, civil commercial aviation (transportation of cargoes, passengers, safety, the use of planes in emergencies, rescue equipment), ground equipment (designs in the construction of airports and other aviation facilities), space technology, satellites, monitoring and forecasting of the weather and natural calamities with the use of satellites, as well as aircraft maintenance.
