Russians win one gold and four bronze at Track Cycling World Championships

BOGOTA, March 03. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian athletes have won one gold and four bronze medals at the Track Cycling World Championships in Colombia’s Cali that ended on Monday.

Russia stands third in the medal table together with France, the United Kingdom and New Zealand.

Denis Dmitriev won bronze in the men’s sprint on the last day of the contest. Bronze medals were brought to Russia’s medal table by Evgenia Romanyuta in the women’s scratch, Viktor Manakov in the men’s omnium and Anastasia Voinova in the women’s 500m time trial.

Ivan Kovalev won Russia’s only gold in the men’s scratch at the Track Cycling World Championships.

In 2013, the Russian team won three medals - one silver and two bronze. In 2012, cyclists won gold and silver.
