Russian space agency heads for Instagram

The agency is seeking new ways of dialogue with people

MOSCOW, February 19. /ITAR-TASS/. Russian Space Agency, or Roskosmos, has opened an official account on the popular online photo- and video-sharing service Instagram, Roskosmos told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

“Roskosmos continues seeking new ways of dialogue with people, and a page on Instagram will undoubtedly be helpful in this respect. We also have official pages on Facebook and Twitter,” said Roskosmos’ press officer Irina Zubareva. “We get users’ comments in social networks and use them to work for better management of space industry coverage,” she added.

According to Zubareva, “the use of social networks to inform people of Russian space industry’s news is a logical step in developing the federal agency’s media sphere, especially now, when hidden opportunities and immediate news diffusion will help interested users stay updated”.

In a special section on the agency’s official site any user can find details of filing an appeal and send one to Roskosmos.
