SYDNEY, February 09, 4:20 /ITAR-TASS/. Viktoria Kan will replace Irina Khromacheva in the first round of the World Group Federation Cup tournament vs. Australia that will take place in Hobart. Kan will face Australia’s Samantha Stosur in the third singles match, the press service of the Fed Cup tournament reports.
Russia is losing to Australia (0-2) after the first day. Khromacheva lost to Casey Dellacqua 0-6, 2-6 while Stosur beat Veronika Kudermetova 6-4, 6-0.
Kan and Stosur will start playing at 4:00 Moscow time. They will be followed by Dellacqua and Kudermetova. Kan and Valeria Solvoyova are to meet Ashleigh Barty and Storm Sanders in doubles. The Australians need to win just one more match for victory over Russia.
