One athlete to represent Kyrgyzstan at Sochi Olympics

BISHKEK, January 25 (Itar-Tass) - Only one athlete, alpine skier Dmitry Trelevsky, will represent Kyrgyzstan in the upcoming Winter Olympics in Sochi, the president of the National Olympic Committee Murat Saralinov told a news conference.

“The athlete will perform in three disciplines,” said Trelevsky’s trainer Igor Borisov. “He is now in good trim. Over the last two months alone he partook in dozens of competitions.”

The coach is sure Trelevsky would perform much better in the pending competition than he did four years ago in Vancouver. Ahead of the Sochi Games where Trelevsky will perform in slalom, giant slalom and Super-G he was mainly training in European countries.

Kyrgyzstan is sending a five-member official delegation to the Games.
