Famous showman Ivan Demidov appointed Director General of Rossiya park in Moscow region

The park will have several thematic expositions devoted to remarkable events in Russia's history

MOSCOW, January 16. /ITAR-TASS/. Famous showman, TV anchor Ivan Demidov has been appointed Director General of the "Management of Park Rossiya" state budget institution, the press service of the culture minister of the Moscow region told Itar-Tass on Thursday. Oleg Rozhnov, Culture Minister of the Moscow region, signed a decree on Demidov's appointment on Thursday. On the same day, Oleg Rozhnov introduced the newly appointed director general to the other members of the Management of Park "Rossiya".

The Rossiya Park, being built in the south of the Moscow region in the area of the town of Domodedovo, occupies a territory of around a thousand hectares. The overall investments into the park construction total eight billion dollars.

The park will have several thematic expositions devoted to remarkable events in Russia's history and a collection of miniatures, which feature ten most significant historical and cultural values in Russia.

Ivan Demidov, 51, had worked for Russian television since 1984. In the early 1990s he was a producer of a popular talk show Vzglyad (View). Afterwards, he was host of the “MuzOboz” (“Music Cab”) show run by "ViD" TV production company.

In 2009, Ivan Demidov was appointed senior secretary of a Commission for prevention of falsifications of history. Since June 2012 until December 2013 Demidov had been Deputy Culture Minister of the Russian Federation.
