Moscow weather beats 103-year-old air temperature record

MOSCOW, December 25 (Itar-Tass World Service) - Moscow weather has beaten the December 25 103-year-old air temperature record. At 14:00 Moscow time the local weather watching station at the exhibition center in the northeast of the city registered 3.5 degrees above freezing, which is 0.4 degrees higher than in 1910.

The air temperature’s average for December in the Russian capital is 4-6 degrees below zero Celsius.

It is too early to say the record is not final yet, as afternoon sunlight will still be able to warm the air just a little bit.

Another temperature record is expected Thursday.
