Wireless Internet to go operational on Moscow metro's circular line

MOSCOW, December 24 (Itar-Tass) - The head of the Moscow metro, Ivan Besedin, confirmed the date when wireless Internet will go operational on the circular line in his address to the media on Tuesday.

“The Internet will start operating tomorrow on, December 25, as we originally promised”, he stressed, adding that the metro's contractor in charge of wireless Internet access project was doing his job really fast. Besedin said that all today’s subway cars were equipped with routers and transmitter-receiver units; the necessary infrastructure was created on the circular line as well.

The metro chief added that tune-up work was in progress at the moment. He had no doubt they would be finished successfully, for a similar experiment on a minor line in the city's south showed positive results.

“The volume of work was huge, and the deadlines, tight, so the contractor started tackling the task with great enthusiasm. We invite everyone to test internet connection tomorrow”, claimed Besedin.
