NEW YORK, December 11. /ITAR-TASS/. Pope Francis has been named Person of the Year by US-based Time magazine, as announced in the morning program of NBC TV channel.

First Man of the Year by The Time was declared in 1927. It was an American aviator Charles Lindbergh, that was the first who crossed the Atlantic by air.
