Gianfranco Rosi wins Golden Lion at Venice Film Festival

VENICE, September 7 (Itar-Tass) - Italian film director Gianfranco Rosi’s documentary Sacro GRA, Tales from Rome’s Ring Road (Sacro GRA) won the 70th Venice Film Festival’s main Golden Lion award.

The award was announced on Saturday, September 7, by the international jury led by Bernardo Bertolucci.

The film is about people who live and work around the Grande Raccordo Anulare, Rome’s ring road. He taps into the everyday life of society’s fringe dwellers in a series of sketches.
