MOSCOW, August 1 (Itar-Tass) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed an order on the allocation of 2.9 billion roubles in 2013 to a number of RF regions for the construction and renovation of stadiums for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the press service of the Russian government reported on Thursday.
According to the order, inter-budgetary transfers from the federal budget to the budgets of subjects of the Russian Federation for the activities for the preparation and holding of the 2018 World Cup in Russia associated with the design and survey work for the construction or renovation of stadiums, are distributed among the Republic of Mordovia, Volgograd, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Sverdlovsk and Rostov Regions.
“The implementation of the order will ensure the financing of R & D activities for the construction or renovation of seven stadiums for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia,” the statement says.
