Russia’s team took four gold and four silver medals and one bronze

MOSCOW, May 12 (Itar-Tass) - Russia has won nine medals at the FISAF International European Fitness and HIP HOP UNITE Championships held from May 7 through May 12 in Antwerp, Belgium, the vice president of the Russian fitness-aerobics federation, Vasily Kozyrev, told Itar-Tass on Sunday.

“Of the 67 teams participating in the championships, Russia was the largest with over 200 athletes delegated,” he said.

Russia’s team took four gold and four silver medals and one bronze.

“Fitness is a most popular sport,” President of the fitness-aerobics federation Olga Sloutsker said. “Excellent results of our team are rooted in more active participation of rank-and-file Russians in sport and physical exercising.”

“We are paying a good deal of attention to promoting and disseminating fitness, in particular, at schools and here is the result of these efforts,” she said.
