Syrian opposition leader says he was not to attend Geneva-2 if Iran is invited

CAIRO, November 3 (Itar-Tass) - The National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces will not take part in the Geneva-2 peace conference on Syria if Iran is invited and as long as the exact date for Syrian President Bashar Assad to step down are not fixed, President of the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces Ahmad al-Jarba said at an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the League of Arab States on Sunday.

He said that Iran was occupying the Syrian territory and vowed that he would not sit down at the negotiating table as long as Iran took part in the peace conference.

He also urged the League of Arab States to pass a resolution to extend military help to the Syrian opposition. “We promise these weapons would not come to the wrong handsm” he pledged.
