Russia, US, UN officials to meet in Geneva on November 5 to prepare conference on Syria

MOSCOW, October 23 (Itar-Tass) - High-ranking officials from Russia, the United States and the United Nations Organization will meet in Geneva on November 5 to prepare a peace conference on Syria, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov told reporters here on Wednesday.

“A meeting will be held on November 5-6,” he said.

U.N. and LAS Joint Special Representative for Syria Lakhdar Brahimi may hold a news briefing for the parties in the talks upon the results of his visit to the region, the Russian deputy foreign minister said.

Gennady Gatilov confirmed that he will represent Russia at the meeting.
