GENEVA, October 16 (Itar-Tass) - An American-Iranian meeting was held here on Tuesday on the sidelines of the talks between the Sextet of international mediators and Iran on Tehran's nuclear programme.
A US delegation source told Itar-Tass that the meeting, in which Wendy Sherman, Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, and Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi took palrt, continued for about an hour. The talks were useful, the sourcea added.
The talks between the Sextet (five Permanent Members of the UN Security Council plus Germany) and Iran will continue here on Wednesday for a second day. Tehran submitted a new plan for a settlement of the situation regarding its nuclear programme. However, the details of the plan have not been disclosed.
