Sextet meeting to precede Iran-Sextet talks in Geneva

MOSCOW, October 14 (Itar-Tass) - The Sextet meeting will precede the talks between Iran and the Sextet in Geneva, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Monday.

The regular full-format round of talks between the Sextet of international mediators (Russia, Britain, China, the United States, France and Germany) and Iran will take place in Geneva on October 15-16. The Sextet will be represented by the foreign ministers. The meeting will also involve EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton. Iran’s delegation will be led by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said, “Constructive talks between the Sextet and Iran will allow the parties to take first concrete steps towards settling the situation.”
