MOSCOW, October 9 (Itar-Tass) - Russia fully supports the decision by the UN Security Council to eliminate the chemical weapons in Syria and believes that stability in that country can only be achieved politically, without foreign intervention, chief of the General Staff, General of the Army Valery Gerasimov said after talks with his British colleague General Nicolas Houghton on Wednesday.
"As for Syria, we fully support the UN SE decision to eliminate the Syrian chemical weapons and believe that stability in that state can only be achieved politically, without any foreign interference," Gerasimov said.
Russia will continue contacts with foreign partners with an emphasis on implementation of this resolution by the UN Security Council, he added.
