Bombings in Baghdad kill 25 people, over 40 injured

CAIRO, September 30. (ITAR-TASS). - At least 25 people were killed and more than 40 were injured on Monday in the Iraqi capital in a series of terrorist attacks. According to Al-Mayadin TV channel, about nine trucks loaded with explosives detonated in the northern and eastern parts of Baghdad.

On Sunday, a series of explosions echoed in Erbil - the capital of the Kurdish autonomous region in the north of the country. According to Iraqi media reports, six people were killed, 36 injured.

Tension in Iraq persists due to the ongoing conflict in Syria. The country, whose population is represented by Sunnis and Shiites, immersed in feud on religious grounds. Violence in Iraq has been continuing this month. Reports of explosions and attacks from all over the country come every day. In August, according to the UN, 804 people were killed; in July, the number of victims amounted to 1057.
