THE UNITED NATIONS, September 25 (Itar-Tass) - The Iranian nuclear program pursues only peaceful goals, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said at the session of the U.N. General Assembly in New York on Tuesday.
“The Iranian nuclear program pursues only peaceful goals. Nuclear weapons and mass destruction weapons are out of place in Iran’s military doctrine. These weapons contradict our fundamental religious and ethical convictions,” Rouhani said. He added that it is Iran’s national interest to lift any suspicions over the country’s nuclear program.
Meanwhile, the Iranian president noted that other countries should respect Iran’s right to enrich nuclear materials. “The development of nuclear technologies in Iran, including enrichment process, has reached industrial scale,” Rouhani stated.
